Nathan Sawaya, who runs the site, is a free lance artist and much of his work is done in the medium of Legos. A lot of his work is featured in museums, but he also makes money by doing commissions, such as life size Lego sculptures. It also becomes obvious from looking at some of his work and his Q&A that he has a great sense of humor.
